Chicago based photographer Michael Smith has been accepting assignment work for over two decades. Since completing a BFA in Photography from Columbia College Chicago he has been shooting as a freelancer both in the studio and on location.

In 2006 Michael returned to school and recently completed a MFA in Independent Film and Digital Imaging from Governors State University outside of Chicago. Returning to school has given Michael a rare opportunity to walk the line between Commercial and Fine Art image making. He is currently dividing his time between teaching photography at Governors State University and his freelance practice.
